In my opinion any one of keller, mcleod, or jost will be a great pick at 11.

I think the new regime is doing a great job refilling the pool. I especially like the low risk players Shero finds overseas. Sooner or later, you'll find a diamond in the rough.

I don't why, but I was never too high on this guy. I'd prefer Brown, Jost and obviously Keller.

Not being selected to the U.S. World Cup Roster may have taken away some of Palmieri's bargaining power. I still think that Palmieri will end up signing a contract similar to the ones signed by both Henrique and Larsson; a 4 to 6 year contract with a 4M to 4.5M salary cap hit.

Barring any trades or other surprises, the Devils should be selecting a quality player with their 11th pick in the upcoming NHL Draft. Keller, Jost, Brown, McLeod all would seem great selections and all are projected to be contributors at the NHL level.

Lastly, I would like to point out the the Devils still lack high-end offensive players. Cammalleri is such a player, but he has missed good parts of the last two seasons due to injuries and he is not getting any younger. I believe that both Palmieri and Henrique have their best seasons ahead of them, but if the Devils are to make a serious run at the playoffs in the coming season, they will have to sign a high end offensive player, either via free agency or trade. Okposo, another quality player not selected to the U.S. World Cup roster, would make a great addition to the Devils.

I'm not big on Chatham, Rehill, or Baddock, like Todd, but with so many guys coming off the books, including in Albany, I wouldn't mind signing Chatham and Rehill, and maybe Baddock.

The reason why? Because I think we should be moving on from O'Brien, Gragnani, Sislo, Burlon, Kelly, and Leblond, even Paul Thompson, if you can trade him in a minor deal.

Time for the young guys in our system in Albany to start getting more time, not being under the Sislo's and O'Brein's and Pelley's.

I'd much rather 20 year olds be in Albany instead of 30 year olds. Again not big on any of the three, but bringing them in for the bottom 6, depth defenseman, would be better then what we have now.

Lappin, Lorito, Kuj, Coelman, Pietilla, Q, Wood, Black, Thomson, Chatham, Baddock, Thompson, should be the forwards.

Helgeson, Hrab, Auvitu, Mozik, Scarlett, Rehill, Santini, Jacobs?, should be the defense.

I agree with most of this but I don't think we need to sign those guys. I think there is better options wether it be different unsigned previously drafted players or u drafted college kids. I do get a good laugh when someone comes in and says they would love to see what sislo could do or Thompson or any of those guys could do on a scoring line lol I bet one any line you could conjur up it would be about 6-8 goals ( the entire season ) and maybe 13-15 pts but now everyone would be screaming at us not having any physicality in or bottom lines. There was one Marty St Louis and anyone will be hard pressed in today's day in age to pull a guy like that out a late bloomer if you will. If they are 22 + and haven't shown any indication of being NHL players then why hang on to him ? Why take up the contract space lol

That Artus gurvus guy or whatever does he ever plan on playing in the NHL ? It doesn't really seem like he has an interest in coming over how long is he our property for ?

One thing you are forgetting is the 50 man limit. The Devils were at 50 and Lappin, Jacobs, Blackwood and Q were exempt. They won't be this year, so there's 4 open spots down.

I think not signing the three mentioned is the smart move since it gives the Devils more flexibility in the trade/UFA market.

Garvis was a 2012 draft pick. I believe (but not certain) he is a UFA as of July 1st.

That was a brutal draft year for us. Severson looks like the only one who will play more than 60 games in the NHL.

After what Gudbranson went for I would love to hear what actual offers we would get for Lars ( I wouldn't move him but I bet after that he could fetch an unreal package )

I don't see why we wouldn't have interest in him. Sure he's been hurt and will probably get hurt moving forward, but he's a skilled and extremely fast forward. entry level deals aren't expensive and at the very least its young and skilled organizational depth. I think he should be signed for sure.

KHL numbers are always hard to read, I would like to see him play in the A and see what comes of it. Late round picks turn into solid players all the time and I don't think it's wise not to sign a skilled player to a very low risk deal when looking at our organization.

If they are not signed to NHL deals, then sign them to AHL deals, if they would.

A kid that might not be signed by Arizona and could play in Albany this year is Conor Bleackley, I think we could pick him up late in the draft. If he's not drafted again, I think we could sign him.

All these guys that are being talked above aren't worth crap and will never make the NHL. We need to draft well this season especially with all these picks. Need to stock the system with young talent. All of our best AHL players are in their high 20s, thats a big issue. Send em packing and bring in the youth. Zacha and a few others helps a little but need a lot more young talent than that to compete in the NHL.

You pretty much answered why they should be brought in because of players in their high 20s and it's time to move on from them. Not every player is going to make the NHL and you have to fill your AHL team to hopefully be competitive.

I thought you couldn't sign guys until they are 21. In that case, I think Ivan Nikolishin could be a good pick up, he's a smaller guy, but he's been productive from the start in the WHL.

Is this kid much different then the kid out of the Q who got a try out last year ?Bourret or something I think his name was, but anyways I think that kid jumped from like fifteen to 30 goals in his last year of jr and he was one of the first ones let go from thir try outs.

I think its the same sort of deal that Thompson had where he wasn't eligible to be called up. Who knows, it could just be a try out.

We'll see. Some guys turn out decent and some guys are busts...It's obviously hit or miss. Ken Appleby was undrafted and has looked pretty decent. Nick Lappin was impressive in the A-Dev's playoff run.

Personally, I like Shero's work in trying to find guys with some upside. I love Lou Lams but how many years did we watch guys like Sestito do nothing in the AHL and then do nothing when they were called up.
